About North+Sur

North+Sur is a space dedicated to the analysis of international relations and political affairs, with a particular focus on the American continent. The publication is guided by a commitment to the principles of liberal democracy, multilateral cooperation, and a rules-based international order.

North+Sur is a bilingual media platform, publishing essays and articles, as well as audiovisual content, in both English and Spanish. While most contributions are written by its founder, Alejandro Hodge Hernández, the platform also features occasional guest contributions from authors offering insightful and thought-provoking perspectives.

North+Sur is a Lurking Llamas publication. Lurking Llamas Press is a multilingual publishing house and media brand dedicated to sharing the diversity of art through the wonderful authors that it publishes. 

About Alejandro

Alejandro Hodge Hernández is a writer specializing in international relations and political science, with an emphasis on Latin America (in particular the member states of MERCOSUR) as well as the United States. Alejandro holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science (International Relations Concentration) from the University of Tennessee and a Master’s Degree in Culture of Peace, Conflict, Education, and Human Rights from the University of Cádiz.

In addition to the work found on this North+Sur, Alejandro is the Head Editor of the Lurking Llamas Review and the founder of Lurking Llamas Press. He works in both fiction and non-fiction, writing short stories, novels, and essays. His literary work can be found in the Lurking Llamas Review, as well as multiple books published by Lurking Llamas Press.
